About Tom

I’m Tom Debski, the owner of Gizmo Home Craft.  In 1990, I came from my native Poland to the United States to build a better life.  In the 25 years that I have lived here, I have worked hard to combine a strong work ethic with my desire to create a final project that makes me proud.

A home is its owner’s greatest asset; it deserves the highest quality care.  I supervise my craftsmen during every phase of a project to ensure that your design wishes are carried out and completed.  I want to provide you with the best craftsmanship, the finest materials,  and my decades of construction and design knowledge. I know that it is a privilege to be given such a task, and it is my goal to earn your trust. I not only want your business, but I also want your repeat business.

I am grateful that Gizmo Home Craft has consistently earned the highest rating on Angie’s List, but it is more important to me that I earn your highest rating. In America, a person is judged by the quality of their character as well as the quality of their work.  It is by those measures that I want you to judge me and my company, Gizmo Home Craft.

Our Rules of Work Etiquette

Most of our customers continue to occupy their homes during a construction or remodeling project. We understand that our worksite is also your living area, and we will do everything reasonably possible to minimize any negative impact to your daily activities.

All projects start with a comprehensive and scheduled plan.  Our goal is to start a project on time and complete a project on time.

Creating a clean and safe work environment is our number one priority.

When doing interior work we will isolate the work area using zippered barriers and self-adhering carpet protection. Dust removal systems will be employed to reduce dust when indicated.  At the end of the day, we will make sure that the work area is left tidy and safe.  When a job is completed, we will work hard to put everything back in order.

Exterior work often requires a greater workforce and larger blocks of materials than interior work.  We will work hard to keep your driveway and garage space as open as possible. When a job is completed, we will clean up after ourselves and use techniques, such as magnetic nail sweeps, to make sure that your exterior environment is returned to you as we found it.

It is our goal to stay on schedule. If there is an unavoidable change in schedule, we will let you know what that change is, and why it was necessary to implement it.

We are committed to being considerate guests in your home, we want you to invite us back.

Why is your company called Gizmo Home Craft?

When I formed my company I thought long and hard about its name choice. There were endless possibilities, some corporate sounding, others intended to evoke an image or feeling.  However, the name that rang true to me was Gizmo Home Craft.

Gizmo was given to my wife, Daphne.  Although Gizmo was technically her dog, he quickly became my friend, loyal companion, and part-time officemate.  Gizmo was an amazing animal who was a much-loved addition to our family.

I like the fact that his name lives on in my company, Gizmo Home Craft.
