One of the advantages of remodeling a bathroom is that you get to refine the shower to your needs. Having a bench in the shower gives you a space to sit, or position where you can raise a leg for easier shaving. It does take extra work to construct a bench, but that effort is paid back many times in overall functionality and convenience.
