There are many stain options that you can use to personalize your wood flooring. However, in the case of the townhouse that I’m remodeling I wanted to go with a natural finish. I had harvested the oak logs myself, and I wanted to show off the imperfect beauty of the white oak flooring. It is still necessary to go through many steps when finishing the floor. Please see the photos below for more details.

Natural imperfections are filled.
A large sander is used to quickly sand down the floors.
A smaller tool is used to sand closer to the edges.
A clear sealer is poured onto the sanded floor.
The clear sealer is evenly rolled over the floor.
The process leaves a finish on the floor that shows all of its natural beauty.
