I am in the process of staining and finishing interior doors for a customer.  The job involves not only staining the wood but also spraying on two protective top coats.

Normally, I would use a lacquer finish, and this is what I asked my Sherwin Williams representative for.  He supplied me with something different, Sher-Wood KEM Aqua Plus. This is a water-based compound. It performs like lacquer as it drys fast, spreads evenly, and it provides a similar end result.  However, since it is water based it does not create the strong odor that wet lacquer does. This makes it much easier to apply it in an enclosed space, and this is especially important in a high volume situation like mine, as I am spraying 13 doors.  I would recommend this product.
