I installed a roof for a customer last fall. At the customer’s request, we fabricated larger gutters and also added a commercially available high-quality gutter guard. The guard was designed with a fine mesh to help eliminate any debris from entering and clogging the gutter system. However, the customer had a complaint. During a very heavy rain the small holes in the guard allowed the rain to slide over the gutter. See the photos below for the problem and my solution.
