It is common to have to remove part of a floor when doing a remodel. In the case below a kitchen island was moved and new plumbing and electrical were added. See the photos to see how we repaired this floor.

Here you can see that most of the floor has been sanded at an angle. Why at an angle? Because the sander bites harder when angled this way making each pass more efficient. After several sandings and after the cabinets are installed the floor will will be stained to match the existing flooring.
