As the owner of a small business I am busy and my time is often controlled by a punch list of responsibilities. It is fantastic to be busy, but it is also important for me to have balance in my life. I have a wonderful son who grows older every year. Activities that I would have done with him 5 years ago no longer hold his interest. However, I still want to be an active influence in his life.
Over Christmas break my son and I traveled to Winter Park and Steamboat Springs to snowboard. We had a fantastic time not only snowboarding, but also sharing the experience with each other.
You can never return to an earlier time to do things that you wished that you would have done then. Sometimes you just need to readjust your priorities, even if it is just for 10 days. Our trip out west was only for a short time, but the memories will live on.
