I’m working on a townhome that was constructed in the 1970s. It has a plain, classic concrete stoop that is showing its age. I wanted to update it without incurring a major expense. One solution was to add some stones on top of the concrete. I went with bluestones as they are large and fairly inexpensive. See the photos below for this transformation.

Here is the original stoop. It looks worn and old.
I used this adhesive mortar as is designed to withstand outdoor weather. This mortar is also used to adhere tiles in swimming pools.
Job done. Much nicer, don’t you think? I still have to add a grout to finish the job.
