A customer’s home needed some tuckpointing work. Below are some photos that describe how we did it.

If you look to the right of the security camera you can see some cracks in the tuckpointing.
Some bricks were literally falling out.
These blades attach to a grinder. You can adjust the width of them as they are specifically designed to clean out old mortar.
Here you can see my mason cleaning out the old mortar.
A mini-jackhammer is used to remove damaged bricks.

Patch in progress. There are two basic types of mortar, type N and type S. They have different colors and also different properties. Next week I’ll show you the end results.
