I have a regular customer who calls me when the shingles on his roof fall off. His house is less than 10 years old, but his building contractor installed his roof shingles improperly.

When it is windy they literally blow off. I have replaced sections of his roof and individual shingles, which is what today’s post is about.

This post is in pictures which document the steps that were used to not only replace his missing shingles, but to also secure his new ones tightly so they will stay in place until he eventually replaces his entire roof.

Improperly installed shingles damaged by the wind.
Removing the remainder of the missing shingle.
Placing the new shingles.
Nailing the new shingles down.
Bonding the shingles together for increased wind resistance.
Repaired!
The finished job.
