As you may recall I’m replacing the support posts on a 1980s home. The original posts were supported by a stoop, which sank badly over the years. I have since replace the stoop, which is now support by concrete piers and will last many years.

Unfortunately, the old posts were rotten and were no longer able to support the portico. We built new posts out of 16′ pine and secured them in place. The next step will be to clad them in PVC aluminum. The owner will have a repair that will last for many decades.

The columns that were rotten no longer supporting the portico.
Removal of the old posts.
New posts in place. They will be clad in white PVC aluminum.
